Evelyn is an 11-year-old girl with Down Syndrome who has been receiving speech therapy at Creative Speech Solutions since the age of two. Evelyn is very active in sports, and loves gymnastics, skiing, and soccer. She also has a budding career as a fashion model and is currently learning how to sew.

March 21, 2016 will be the 11th annual World Down Syndrome Day. This year the theme will be “My Friends, My Community” – The benefits of inclusive environments for today’s children and tomorrow’s adults.

Down Syndrome International will be presenting a Global Video Event on March 21st. This will consist of a series of video clips based on this year’s theme.

Down Syndrome International will also be hosting the 5th World Down Syndrome Conference on March 21st at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City from
10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Registration is free.

Down Syndrome International also invites everyone to wear brightly colored or printed socks, LOTS OF SOCKS socks, brightly colored clothing, LOTS OF SOCKS t-shirts, or World Down Syndrome Day t-shirts to help raise awareness and start a conversation about World Down Syndrome Day.
