Creative Speech Solutions, LLC (a pediatric therapy center) is hiring full-time experienced speech-language pathologist to join our growing team to fill a temporary school maternity leave replacement in the Clifton, NJ area from Sept 2023 – end of Dec 2023.

Speech-language pathologists at Creative Speech Solutions (CSS) specialize in treating children with a wide variety of diagnoses and level of functioning. The duties of this position include providing evaluations and direct therapy for the pediatric population in school-based setting. In addition to direct treatment, responsibilities could also include, report writing, treatment collaboration, case management, IEP development and adherence to all NJ state special education laws.

Candidates interested in this SLP role at CSS are required to have the following:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited speech therapy program
  • NJ State License, Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), NJ School Certificate (SLS) and Criminal History Review (CHR-which includes fingerprinting with the state of NJ)
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in a pediatric school setting
  • AAC and Feeding experience is required**

2024 Camp PAL Volunteer Summer Intern

Camp PAL · Chatham, New Jersey

Creative Speech Solutions, LLC is looking for Speech Pathology or Occupational Therapy students for our Volunteer Summer Internship program who interested in gaining necessary observation hours needed to apply to graduate school.  Our internship opportunity is a six-week therapeutic summer program as part of Camp PAL (Play and Learn) for children with learning differences.  A private practice started by Cynthia Marrapodi over 20 years ago has evolved into CSS, a multi-disciplinary pediatric therapy center with a dynamic team of speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and administrative support staff (with offices located in Summit and Montclair, New Jersey). CSS provides the following services in addition to Camp PAL: speech, language, occupational, feeding and literacy therapies along with social skills groups.

CSS is actively recruiting for capable, enthusiastic and highly motivated students who may require observation hours/ volunteer experience for school. CSS will provide interns with strong performance detailed and customized letters of recommendations for graduate school and also three (3) in-depth MANDATORY training sessions prior to the start of camp (Dates are Monday May 20th and Monday June 3rd from 10:00am-12:00pm via Zoom and Wednesday June 26th from 1:00-4:00pm in person at Southern Blvd Elementary School). Camp PAL will run from July 2nd until August 8th, three days weekly (EXCEPT FOR WEEK 1 TUES/WED ONLY).  All other weeks are (Tues, Wed, Thurs) from 1:30-4:30.  Intern hours are from 12:45-5pm to assist with set-up and clean-up.  The location of the camp is just a few miles from our Summit, NJ office at Southern Blvd Elementary School in Chatham, NJ.  Please know that we are looking for interns who can commit to all 6 weeks in order to provide continuity for our campers.

This unique opportunity provides college and graduate students with hands-on experiences and great insight into understanding and observing therapeutic intervention strategies for children with a wide variety of developmental disabilities in a camp-like environment.  Additionally, they will have the ability to see children progress and learn through play.  Summer interns will have the opportunity to observe and assist talented certified therapists who are fully prepared to offer highly motivated professional interns instruction and opportunities to learn the most up to date therapy techniques.  Additionally, interns will have the ability to see first hand how children progress as a result of this intervention. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Occupational Therapists at Creative Speech Solutions (CSS) specialize in treating children with a wide variety of diagnoses and functioning levels. Position duties include providing direct therapy and evaluations for the pediatric population in a private medically based setting and/or as well as school based setting.

Job description involves one-on-one treatment sessions with children ages 2-12 in a state-of-the-art facility. The most common diagnoses treated are Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Apraxia, Global Developmental Delay, and Sensory Processing Disorder. Additional job description includes writing daily notes and progress reports, updating goals, creating home exercise programs, counseling caretakers, and collaborating with speech therapists, school therapists, and teachers. Candidates should be experienced treating sensory processing disorders, motor planning difficulties, decreased strength, and gross motor skills, as well as visual motor and fine motor skills. Experience with Handwriting Without Tears is encouraged.

In addition to direct treatment, responsibilities could also include report writing, parent meetings, in-service presentations to parents, teachers or pre-schools, parent meetings-coordination or training. If school placement is an needed; case management, IEP development and adherence to all NJ state special education laws will be necessary.

Candidates interested in an OT role at CSS are required to have:

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Minimum of two years of work experience in pediatric private practice and/or school setting.
  • Satisfactory completion of Certification Examination of National Board for Certification of Occupational
    Therapists. Maintenance of registration required
  • NJ State OT License
  • NJ School Certificate or eligibility
