The eighth annual World Autism Awareness Day is coming up on April 2nd. Every year, autism organizations around the world celebrate the day with unique fundraising and awareness-raising events and Autism Speaks celebrates its international “Light It Up Blue” campaign. Thousands of iconic landmarks, skyscrapers, schools, businesses and homes across the globe unite by shining bright blue lights in honor of the millions of individuals and families affected by autism. Individuals everywhere wear blue to spread awareness and understanding of autism; celebrate and honor the unique talents and skills of people with autism; and bring attention to the needs of all people with autism.
