Speech-Language Therapists

Siobhan O’Connor, M.S., CCC-SLP

Siobhan O’Connor received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics from Montclair State University and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Adelphi University. While Siobhan was a student clinician, she completed one of her clinical rotations at Creative Speech Solutions over the course of two semesters. Under the supervision of Anna Pickton, one of the senior speech-language pathologists at CSS, Siobhan treated children with a wide range of speech and language disorders and also planned and lead social skills groups.

Siobhan has experience working in both clinical and educational settings. She has provided therapy to children with autism, apraxia, receptive and expressive language disorders, articulation disorders, auditory processing disorders and specific learning disabilities. She has also provided therapy to adults with dysarthria and social pragmatic language deficits.

Siobhan is certified as a Registered Behavior Technician and has four years of experience as a behavior therapist. Siobhan has provided applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapy to children on the autism spectrum ranging from 18 months to 8 years of age. She has experience implementing ABA techniques to help her clients acquire, maintain and generalize functional skills as well as reduce challenging behaviors in clinical, educational, home and community settings. During this time, Siobhan most enjoyed working on communication skills with her clients, which truly nurtured her passion for the field of speech-language pathology.

Siobhan enjoys collaborating with and learning from other therapists. She is creative in her therapy planning, and tailors therapy sessions so that they are unique and motivating for each individual client. Siobhan also enjoys interacting with her clients’ families. She believes an important part of the therapeutic process includes educating family members about their child’s progress, as well as providing ways to generalize this progress outside of the therapy room. Siobhan is grateful for such a rewarding career in which she is able to advance the lives of her clients and their families.

Siobhan is licensed to practice in the state of New Jersey. She is also certified by the New Jersey Department of Education as a Speech-Language Specialist.

Siobhan is thrilled to be back at Creative Speech Solutions!
