Tovah Segelman Spring, M.S., CCC-SLP

Tovah received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University with a double major in Psychology and Anthropology and her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology from the MGH Institute of Health Professions in Boston.

Tovah joined the Creative Speech Solutions, LLC team in September 2008. Before joining Creative Speech she previously worked in a local public school district for seven years where she completed evaluations and provided speech and language services for children in preschool through first grade as well as middle school. Tovah has experience treating children with a variety of diagnoses, including Autistic Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Language-Based Learning Disabilities/Specific Learning Disabilities, articulation/phonological disorders, apraxia of speech, expressive and receptive language delays, pragmatic language disorders, cognitive impairment, and auditory processing disorders.

Tovah is a language and literacy specialist and works with children and young adults in the areas of phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, phonics, sight word recognition, decoding, spelling, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and written expression skills. She has experience with the Orton-Gillingham Scope and Sequence and is trained in the Wisnia-Kapp Reading Program (WKRP), a multi-sensory structured approach to sound-symbol awareness for early readers and spellers. Tovah also uses the Project Read Framing Your Thoughts writing program.

Tovah is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and licensed by the State of New Jersey. She also maintains certification by the New Jersey Department of Education as a Speech-Language Specialist. Tovah has presented continuing education courses for local preschools and the Union County Speech-Language Hearing Association. Tovah is also a certified provider for TALK YOGA™, a multi-sensory program that uses yoga poses to improve articulation skills and expand expressive language skills.

Tovah truly enjoys working with children of all ages and their families to improve their literacy skills. Tovah especially takes great pride in watching her clients’ progress as they work toward accomplishing their individual goals.
