Olivia Thorson, MS CFY-SLP
Olivia received her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Language Pathology with a minor in Sociology from Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame in Notre Dame, IN. Following her time at Saint Mary’s College, Olivia earned her Master of Science in Speech Language Pathology from DePaul University in Chicago, IL.
Olivia has provided speech and language services in a wide array of settings with both pediatric and adult populations. During her time in Chicago, Olivia provided services at the DePaul University Speech Therapy Clinic and Marillac St. Vincent Center to deliver therapy services to the underserved community of Chicago. She implemented various delivery models based on evidence-based practices for those with cognitive-communication disorders, expressive and receptive language delays, autism spectrum disorder, apraxia of speech, and speech-sound disorders.
While earning her M.S. in SLP, Olivia relocated to New Jersey where she completed her graduate school externships at Creative Speech Solutions and within the Summit School District. Olivia’s clinical experience in New Jersey includes working in the private practice and school setting, including an ABA-style classroom setting, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team and families, attending IEP meetings, providing counseling for Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC), and providing individual and group therapy within both settings.
Olivia holds a Speech Language Pathologist License issued by the state of New Jersey and is certified by The NJ Department of Education as a Speech-Language Specialist. Olivia is passionate about providing child-led therapy and being a part of the interdisciplinary team to best support her clients, in addition to being an advocate for her clients. Olivia believes collaboration between the client’s family and professionals is crucial to generalize progress and to best support client’s goals.
Olivia enjoys traveling, attending barre class, singing, and walking her french bulldog. She is thrilled to be a part of the CSS team!
