Speech Language Pathologist

Kathy Kane , M.S., CCC-SLP

Kathy received her Master of Arts degree from Hunter College. She has been a Speech-Language Pathologist working in the field since 1993.

Kathy has experience treating children in a variety of settings, including hospital, Early Intervention, and school. While living in New York, Kathy worked at Blythedale Children’s Hospital in Westchester, NY, where she gained a wealth of experience evaluating and treating children with a variety of diagnoses in the areas of speech, language and feeding. She also had the opportunity to co-treat with occupational and physical therapists in this setting.

Kathy has experience providing Early Intervention therapy to children under the age of 3; she especially enjoys the opportunity this provides to work closely with family members. After moving to New Jersey, Kathy began working at Saint Barnabas Ambulatory Care Center where she was promoted to supervisor. After she and her husband adopted their son from South Korea, she began working in the public school setting. As a result, she is knowledgeable about educational laws and how to best service children’s needs in an academic setting. Kathy is focused continuing her education so she can stay abreast of the most current information and treatment options best suited for each child. She is a certified PROMPT therapist; she has extensive experience treating articulation and fluency disorders.

Kathy’s favorite part of her work is being able to help children find their own special voice and to understand that their words are important and meaningful.
