Amanda Paravati, M.A., CCC-SLP

Amanda received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Sociology from Syracuse University and her Master of Arts in Speech-Language Pathology from Kean University in 2009.

Amanda has experience working in private educational settings providing diagnostic and therapeutic services to individuals aged 3-21 with a variety of diagnoses including apraxia, autism, cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury (TBI), developmental delays, Down Syndrome, hearing and visual impairments, complex communication needs, and other diagnoses.

Amanda specializes in assistive technology and Augmentative and Alternative Communication  (AAC) assessment, device trials, communication goal writing, implementation training and parent coaching.  Amanda has extensive experience as an AAC Specialist using various low technology systems such as Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display (PODD) as well as high technology including Tobii Dynavox, PRC-Saltillo, and Smartbox devices, and communication applications such as Proloquo2Go, LAMP, TD Snap, Snap PODD, Grid 3, and TouchChat.  Amanda is passionate about providing individuals with the most appropriate personalized AAC to improve their communication with their family and peers.

Amanda is certified by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) and is licensed by the State of New Jersey and certified by the New Jersey Department of Education as a Speech-Language Specialist.  She is trained in Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular Phonetic Targets (PROMPT), holds a Teacher Certification from Signing Time Academy in Baby Sign and certified in Hanen It Takes Two to Talk (ITTT).  Amanda has  attended training workshops on Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display (PODD) and alternative access, LAMP by the Center of AAC and Autism, and TouchChat by PRC-Saltillo.  She received her AAC certificate from Stockton University in 2020.  Amanda loves spending time with her four young children, husband, and extended family.
